Does the idea that your diet can fight for you seem incredible? While the mood is to march for the cure or fight cancer you can be ahead of the game with an eating attitude that quietly, deliciously and without doubt protects you. Imagine feeling safe from ever having to deal with ravishes of a fearful, debilitating disease like cancer.
And come to think of it, do you really want to declare war on your body? Why bother when your body comes fully equipped with its own arsenal of billions of cellular troops, better known as your Immune System, ready to fight for you. This is especially so, if you focus on a cancer fighting diet.
I would think that no matter how enthusiastic you are about being a fighter there should be no need to consider war on your body. This is because all that is required is for you to nurture it with the fresh food gifts of nature.
Nature has given us all the foods that when eaten regularly and with enthusiasm will support our immune system perfectly. So it turns out that all you have to do is adopt a diet with cancer fighting foods that protect and work for you.
I suggest that you use the energy it takes to march and fight and spend it learning to identify and cook the fresh foods that support immunity, as you dismiss the foods that challenge your own immunity.
Foods that challenge your immunity are very enticing and generally not brought to you by Mother Nature but by a profit making company with an entirely different goal.
There is a vast difference between drinking orange soda and fresh orange juice. Fresh orange juice will give you potent vitamin C, an established immune booster, while orange soda will give artificial orange flavor and as much as 9 – 12 teaspoons of sugar. This is a huge challenge to the protective function of your immune system.
You don’t have to go on a hunt. There are lots of cook books like my healthy aging cook book that can help you plan menus or even just start with one meal a day that is fresh food driven, and with ingredients that support immunity.
This might sound very easy or improbably, but as we speak the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) has scientist that are seeking facts about ingredients in natural foods that might have a powerful impact on the prevention or even cure of cancer…
According to the AICR – “one in five Americans age 50 and over is unaware they can take steps to lower their risk of cancer. Unless this awareness is increased a “sliver tsunami” of these high risk Americans is set to overwhelm the health care system.”
So you see the single most important step you might have to make is to open your awareness, grab a healthy aging cookbook and then take delicious action.
Choose a cookbook that has only fresh food recipes that give you guidelines for what to choose for breakfast, dinner, snacks, salads, soups.
Look for Menu guides and description of the ingredients in the natural food recipes that support immunity, brain and bone function and recipes that do not contain large amounts of refined sugar, but have natural sugar coming from fruits and vegetables.
The recipes should have built in portion control so that you get the right serving size of health giving carbohydrates, fats and protein to support a healthy body.
You should be able to plan a diet with healthy amount of protein, fats and complex carbohydrates to support and protect you as you age without worry about cancer and other distressing ailments.
While others are fighting or running for the cure or worried about the high cost of healthcare and illness; your thoughts can be centered on creating an empowered quality of life using fresh food.
As we celebrate the Christmas season and the birth of the Prince of Peace, I urge you to give up even the illusion of fighting with your body and seek a more nurturing emotion like peace.
Being peaceful is a restorative emotional experience. Being peaceful helps you to nurture your immune system and helps it perform with effortless ease… Fighting is associated in the human body with fear, stress and anxiety. This weakens the immune system and can lead to distress and debilitating illnesses like heart disease and cancer.
